Bajiao Valley

It got its name because there were many plantain trees in the ditch in ancient times. It contains the best quality coal in China. It was mined in the Ming Dynasty. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, the National Government established the Sino British joint venture Jiayang Coal Mine, one of the "four major anti Japanese coal mines", to mine high-quality coal and transport it to Chongqing via the Mabian River and Minjiang River, making important contributions to the victory of the Anti Japanese War. After the mining of high-quality coal in Bajiaogou, the old coal mines, Soviet style buildings and industrial and mining residential buildings will be left behind. In 2019, it will be named as a national industrial heritage.
